SAN ARDO, Calif. — Residents of San Ardo have an opportunity to shape future walking, bicycling and accessibility improvements at a community focus group scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The gathering is planned for Our Lady of Ransom Church on Kentallen Road, according to a recent Salinas Valley community events notice. Registration is required, and residents should confirm the precise meeting instructions before traveling.
What the transportation agency wants to hear
The Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) is updating its countywide Active Transportation Plan, a blueprint for improving how people walk, bike and use mobility devices on local roads. The agency is inviting residents to identify locations where traffic feels unsafe, routes with missing sidewalk connections and destinations that are difficult to reach without a car.
San Ardo’s rural location makes this kind of feedback especially useful. A roadway may appear adequate on a regional map but still be stressful for a student walking to school, a family navigating an intersection or an older resident crossing a busy street.
How to contribute if you cannot attend
TAMC also provides a bilingual English and Spanish public survey and a participation page at tamcmonterey.org/monterey-county-active-transportation-plan. The agency says public comments will help it identify priorities and potential investments.
Planning input does not guarantee a specific sidewalk, bike lane or crossing will be funded. Design, property access, engineering review and future funding remain separate steps.
